Whitley Releases Supporters' List and California Endorsement
Almost 250 county officials from across the country have endorsed Tarrant County Judge Glen Whitley for
2nd Vice President of the National Association of Counties.
In addition, the board of directors of the California State Association of Counties unanimously endorsed Glen Whitley
in March and adopted the block-vote, unit rule approach to indicate its intent to throw its unanimous
support to Whitley at the NACo conference July 11-15 in Kansas City, Missouri.
Whitley, who began collecting signatures in large numbers at the NACo Legislative Conference in February, thanked
the California Association for the action taken at its March 20 meeting.
He added that that many delegates have told him they are willing to declare their support for him but
also desire to maintain loyalty to their state delegation’s traditional support for the unit rule balloting.
“I understand the importance that many states place on block voting but I am asking officials to support me at
least up until the point of a state vote,” he said. “I am not asking people to break with their fellow home state
delegates but certainly appreciate it if they will indicate their initial support and work for me within their delegations."
Officials who want to add their names to the list or have any questions about the Glen Whitley campaign
